Art by Iwakoshi
Welcome to the website This is an Art site-more visual than verbal.
I love to paint and draw, mainly animals, although I pretty much enjoy painting most everything!
I greatly admire portrait artists and landscape painters...so many styles, techniques and approaches- all unique!
As a kid, I loved books, besides reading them - I enjoyed the wonderful story telling illustrations they contained. In today's world of instant digital images, I still feel illustrated books contain some of our most precious and wonderful images, as they guide us through a world of imagination.
Just a few of my most favorite artists of the past are Edward Munnings, Westley Dennis, Paul Brown, Monet, Van Gogh,Degas,DaVinci,Sargent, Lyndecker, Rockwell...and many many more(too many to mention). All of these artists, as well as being expert in their craft and highly skilled technically- were story tellers in pictures.
I am pretty schizophenic when it comes to honoring one painting or drawing tradition. I love pretty much all mediums, pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, color pencil, pastels, oil paints and acrylics. I find digital painting so interesting but very challenging. Its a fun new tool for today's artist.
If you are interested in the process of my journey of learning,
check out the blog. I admire and respect so many of the very talented artists,
both living and past. There is so much to learn.
I welcome your posts and comments.
