Inspiration

Where does inspiration come from?  How do we decide what we want to draw?
For me nature is great inspiration.  God has created a beautiful endless design of color and variety.
There are animals, plant life, landscapes, all are unique and one of a kind!  Too much!  My endless adventure of eye candy exists everywhere!
Another wonderful inspiration is of those artists, contemporary and historical that have left evidence of creative designs and inspiration in their wanderings and exploration into the visual arts.  Art history is continually fascinating, it parallels our own history.
Today's art has morfed into traditional vs modern vs digital vs now!  Artists are now free to explore art in a digital form.  We can now explore art in forms that we have never even thought of when we were kids! ( Unless you are a precocious five year old reading this in the here and now!)  I implore you as an artist to discover!  Stay open minded about your art and discover the beauty around you!  Read books about great artists, look and learn from their inspirations and creations.  Go to art galleries, see and appreciate master works of art.   Educate yourselves about the digital end of art production.  It may look dry and hard to comprehend in the beginning but the results are no less short of amazing.  As a traditionally trained artist, I find the digital art quite amazing in its scope and ability to mimic really traditional art techniques.  I must say though, the artists that have a history of working traditionally in color theory and skillfulness in drawing have a much easier time with creating digitally, just because of their learned technique in color mixing and history of skill building.
Art and creating art is an inner energy that is unique to you.  Try to keep it spontaneous and fun!
Draw for the fun of it!  Paint for the sheer joy of painting!  Enjoy!
